Issue Positions

For Presidential and Congressional candidates who refuse to provide voters with their positions, Vote Smart has researched their public records to determine their likely responses. These issue positions are from 2022.

  • "I believe we should abolish the IRS with the creation of a Flat Tax for all citizens at the point of purchase." (www.jaredcraigforgeorgia.com)
  • "I support the abolition of the IRS in it's entirety. I believe taxation of citizens' efforts is immoral. I further believe that the current federal tax code which includes tax brackets violates the US Constitution 14th Amendment guarantee of Equal Treatment and Protection from the government. I prefer a Flat/Fair tax position that treats all citizens equally and further equally benefits those who produce their own goods. A Sales Tax collected by the vendors and collected by each State's revenue department would then pay the Federal Government their fair share based on each State's population." • "I do not believe publicly traded corporations nor unions should be able to make campaign contributions. Although I do respect the corporate form, a corporation is merely a group of individuals who have a common goal. Those collectives can donate in their own personal capacity. I am completely opposed to the existence and power of unions. I will not vote to further empowerment of unions whatsoever." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "Qualified immunity is an important tool to allow government employees from being personally liable for their actions for so long as they were operating in the furtherance of their position. Such immunity should never be granted for conduct outside of the discretion of their employment. I do oppose legislation that provides protections for municipal and state entities when citizens are injured. An injured Plaintiff should never have to request approval from a State entity before filing suit against them. A Defendant in any civil litigation should not be able to deny access to the judicial branch to resolve disputes." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I include in this Border Security funding along with Coast Guard funding to protect our borders. The current administration has made our military weak by the inclusion of Critical Race Theory and Woke nonsense when their sole purpose is to protect this nation." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I support a strong military to deter an invasion of our great nation and for the protection of our allies around the world." (www.jaredcraigforgeorgia.com)

  • "Other than creating a list of those who cannot legally possess a firearm, I do not agree with the creation of any further database of law-abiding citizens who are exercising their 2nd Amendment Right. I believe States who infringe on their citizen's 2nd Amendment Rights are violating the 2nd Amendment summarily and a citizen's right to bear arms is an interstate right. This is a rare State overreach issue." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I do not believe in any mandated healthcare legislation. Employees can choose to work for employers who offer benefit packages, or to work for those who do not. • "I support Energy Independence and therefore wish to end the dependence on any Middle East sources of oil. I support defending Israel from attack from Syria, Iran, etc. When we no longer have a stake in Saudi oil, we should require fewer soldiers to protect our assets and citizens there. NATO has more members and the UN has more resources than the US Military." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I strongly support taxing imported goods from countries like China to make American production more viable. When any country manipulates the valuation of its currency to unfairly compete in any market, taxing is the cure. When a country relies on slave labor and the use of child labor to further compete unfairly in any market, they should be punished for doing so." (justfacts.votesmart.org)

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I support Pro-Life Legislation and further believe life begins at conception.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
I support the abolition of the IRS in it's entirety. A Sales Tax collected by the vendors and collected by each State's revenue department would then pay the Federal Government their fair share based on each State's population.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I do not believe publicly traded corporations nor unions should be able to make campaign contributions. Although I do respect the corporate form, a corporation is merely a group of individuals who have a common goal. Those collectives can donate in their own personal capacity. I am completely opposed to the existence and power of unions. I will not vote to further empowerment of unions whatsoever.
Yes Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
Qualified immunity is an important tool to allow government employees from being personally liable for their actions for so long as they were operating in the furtherance of their position. Such immunity should never be granted for conduct outside of the discretion of their employment. I do oppose legislation that provides protections for municipal and state entities when citizens are injured. An injured Plaintiff should never have to request approval from a State entity before filing suit against them. A Defendant in any civil litigation should not be able to deny access to the judicial branch to resolve disputes.
Yes Do you support increasing defense spending?
I include in this Border Security funding along with Coast Guard funding to protect our borders. The current administration has made our military weak by the inclusion of Critical Race Theory and Woke nonsense when their sole purpose is to protect this nation.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
I am a free market proponent. There is no need for corporate welfare. Welfare should be restricted to a limited numbers of individuals only and only for a limited period of time. Companies succeed and companies fail. That is the natural order of things.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Pursuant to the 10th Amendment, education is within the "police powers" that should be exclusively controlled and regulated by each State. Federal education standards is federal overreach.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Regulation of greenhouse gases is complete nonsense. The Green New Deal is a corruption tool.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Other than creating a list of those who cannot legally possess a firearm, I do not agree with the creation of any further database of law-abiding citizens who are exercising their 2nd Amendment Right. I believe States who infringe on their citizen's 2nd Amendment Rights are violating the 2nd Amendment summarily and a citizen's right to bear arms is an interstate right. This is a rare State overreach issue.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
I do not believe in any mandated healthcare legislation. Employees can choose to work for employers who offer benefit packages, or to work for those who do not. Adult citizens do not need to be treated as children. Mandating that all businesses provide more than a wage will harm small businesses. I support small business.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I support a strong immigration policy where we enforce ALL OF THE CURRENT IMMIGRATION LAWS and further to criminally prosecute those who violate their oaths of office by picking and choosing which laws are ignored.
Yes Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
I support Energy Independence and therefore wish to end the dependence on any Middle East sources of oil. I support defending Israel from attack from Syria, Iran, etc. When we no longer have a stake in Saudi oil, we should require fewer soldiers to protect our assets and citizens there. NATO has more members and the UN has more resources than the US Military.
No Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
I strongly support taxing imported goods from countries like China to make American production more viable. When any country manipulates the valuation of its currency to unfairly compete in any market, taxing is the cure. When a country relies on slave labor and the use of child labor to further compete unfairly in any market, they should be punished for doing so.
1. Energy Independence: This will require the opening of viable leases on-shore in addition to off-shore. I do not believe any additional funding would be required. Private companies would love the opportunity to invest. 2. Domestic Manufacturing of Essential Goods: We can offset the initial cost of "Made in America" goods by increasing taxes on imported goods from countries that unfairly compete with the use of currency manipulation and slave labor. 3. Abolish the IRS: My replacement of the IRS will be a sales tax that will cut the cost of collection and likely increase the total revenue.

Vote Smart does not permit the use of its name or programs in any campaign activity, including advertising, debates, and speeches.
